...PARIS CONCERT HALL
These models reflect a study for a new 2,400 seat Philharmonic Concert Hall for the city of Paris, originally a 2007 competition won by Atelier Jean Nouvel. The site for this project is an existing parking lot on the periphery of the Parc de la Villette and adjacent to the Cité de la Musique. The models reflect a variety of potential design strategies ranging from low profile courtyard filled mat building, multi-volume aggregative building or a monolithic raised volume. The preferred proposal was one that elevated the main performance hall to produce an exterior covered space below that would serve to sponsor informal music and street type performances by day-to-day users of the larger park area.
Location: Paris, FR
Project Date: Fall 2007
